Donations in memoriam

One of the ways that churches may be enabled to commission original works of art is through donations from church members given in memoriam. In cases like these, the donor and/or the person deceased is commemorated on a plaque placed, where possible, on or near the work of art itself.

Lewis-Holy-Water-StoupThis Holy Water Stoup, made from oiled oak and polished brass for St Margaret’s Great Ilford, was designed by Mark Lewis. It was dedicated by parish priest Fr. Stephen Pugh on Sunday 25th March 2012 in memory of Mr Ron Smith.
The engraved inscription on the stoup reads, ‘We praise you, O God.’
