Terry Ffyffe

Gibber Desert at Night by Terry Ffyffe

Terry Ffyffe was born in Melbourne Australia. Educated by the Marist Brothers at St Joseph College, he studied Art at Swineburne University under Jeffrey Makin and Roger Kemp. After living the Bohemian life of a painter in Carlton, extensive travels in the Australian outback and several solo exhibitions Terry Ffyffe came to England to study the “Old Masters” of European painting at first hand. Terry describes himself as a contemplative being, a member of the Third Order of Carmelites and leading meditation groups with the World Community of Christian Meditation. Terry has explored a number of themes in a figurative style including the nude, landscape, portraiture, allegorical works and religious painting. He has won a number of competitions including the Discerning Eye and has undertaken numerous commissions, notably two murals for the London Borough of Havering depicting the history of Upminster and Gidea Park. Terry was represented by the Lamont Gallery at international art fairs and held three solo shows with them. He is now working on a series of new paintings that combine his insights from contemplation with scientific theories of reality. www.ffyffepaintings.com
